Description
Amendment 7 to BAA-08-21 Mobile Ad hoc Interoperability Network GATEway (MAINGATE) The purpose of this amendment to BAA08-21 Mobile Ad hoc Interoperability Network GATEway (MAINGATE) is to provide the following solicitation questions and answers: Question 79: Provide rationale regarding the Amendment 06 High Band Performance Changes (1,2,4,& 5). Answer 79: Amendment 6 provides Proposer’s greater flexibility in meeting the MAINGATE SWAP, cost and/or performance requirements. Question 80a: Specifically, does the move of the "Above UHF (High Band) use of directional antennas" as well as the move of the Overall Informational Rate "High Band (Above UHF) of > 10 Mbps (T); >100 Mbps (O)" from the Radio section of Attachment A to the Gateway section of Appendix A remove the requirement for high band performance and/or move the cost of the high band equipment from the Radio to the Gateway? Answer 80a: No, the amendment does not remove the requirement for high band performance. Proposers must show they can achieve high band performance using MAINGATE. The change provides proposers the opportunity to provide the high data rate capability above UHF either through an internal function, or though an external capability (see item 6 in amendment 6). This change also provides the opportunity for the cost of the high band equipment to be removed from the radio cost, should the proposer desire to do so. Question 80b: If neither is correct, then what is the rationale for this significant change/reduction in capability? Answer 80b: Not applicable Question 81:Can DARPA advise the significance and major implications, if any, of moving the high band requirement from Section 1 Radio to Section 4 Gateway? Are there any implied new requirements? Answer 81: Amendment 6 provides proposers greater flexibility in meeting the MAINGATE SWAP, cost and/or performance requirements. There are no implied new requirements. End of amendment 7
