Description
NOTICE OF INTENT TO NEGOTIATE AND AWARD A SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT to FAAC Incorporated, 1229 Oak Valley Dr, Ann Arborm MI 48108 for the United States Marine Corps, III Marine Expeditionary Forces (III MEF). The Regional Contracting Office, Far East, Okinawa Japan intends to award a Sole Source, Firm Fixed Price Contract, with FAAC Incorporated. This sole source procurement is pursuant to 10 USC 2304(c)(1), as set forth under FAR 6.302-1. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code for this procurement is: 541990, and a Federal Supply Class (FSC) Code of J069. FAAC Incorporated, as the Original Equipment Manufacturer of the Medium Tactical Vehicle Replacement Training Simulator (MTVR-TS) Operator Driving Simulators (ODS), will provide on-site contractor logistical support (CLS), engineering/management support, and extended hardware warranty coverage. The support also provides for remote CLS management & engineering support to include facilitating upgrad! es by the Marine Corps program office. The extended warranty provides complete coverage for repair/replacement of all non-consumable hardware components comprising the ODS. The MTVR-TS is a proprietary product marketed, services, and implemented by FAAC Incorporated. The anticipated award date of any resulting contract is 15 January 2009. The period of performance will be from 15 January 2009 through 30 June 2009 with five six (6) month Option Periods. This Notice is not a request for proposals or quotations; however, any firm that believes that it can meet the specifications for services and be fully operational by 15 January 2009 may give written notification to the Contracting Officer. Responses received will be evaluated; however a determination by the Government not to compete the requirement based upon responses received to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
