Description: The Amelia Earhart Center Modernization plan called for the use of specific modular furniture provided by the General Services Administration (GSA) approved source, Herman Miller, which supports the entire district and is interchangeable with all offices. This action supports the multiple moves and fluctuation of personnel in support of the District's continuous changing mission and personnel manning requirements. Changing to other furniture would eliminate our ability to modify configurations with on hand furniture, increase overall cost, and impact our ability to quickly react to personnel changes and ISO mission growth. Herman Miller was already purchased for the 6th floor on 30 Sep 08. Herman Miller should be purchased for compatibility, interchangeability, warranty, fit, uniformity, and ease of administration. The first estimated order date 30 January 09.
