- Description
- The Naval Air Warfare Center, Weapons Division, China Lake, CA, intends to procure, on an other than full and open competition basis from Sikorsky Support Services, Inc. (SSSI), 6900 Main ST, Stratford, CT 06617-1378, a contractmodification for a 6 - month extension to contract N68936-05-D-0017 to provide Contractor Field Services (CFS) to instruct and train Department of Defense (DoD) personnel in the installation, operation and maintenance of the H-53 and H-60 aircraft systems and equipment at various sites in support of Naval Air Technical Data and Engineering Service Command (NATEC). Sikorsky is the developer and original equipment manufacturer (OEM) of the equipment to be supported. This effort includes instructing and training DoD personnel in the operation and maintenance of the H-53 and H-60 helicopters, associated support equipment and providing logistic support and inventory control of repair parts. Employees working for the OEM are the only individuals who have access to current proprietary technical data and who are capable of resolving complex maintenance and technical problems. Sikorsky Support Services, Inc is the only source available with the requisite data and specific technic! al support personnel knowledgeable of this equipment. No other firm possesses the required data and expertise on this equipment. Award of this contract modification is expected to occur in December 2008 and it will cover the period from 01 January 2009 through 30 June 2009. A long-term follow-on contract is in process and it is anticipated that the request for proposal (RFP) for the follow-on contract will be synopsized in January 2009.
