- Description
- USCG, MLCP (vpl-1) in Oakland, CA proposes to contract for the dry dock and repairs of USCGC OSPREY (WPB 87307) home ported out of Port Townsend, WA 98368 and USCGC WAHOO (WPB 87345) home ported out of Port Angeles. All work shall be at the contractor’s facility during the periods of 01 April 2009 through 12 May 2009 for CGC OSPREY and 03 June 2009 through 14 July 2009 for CGC WAHOO. A geographical restriction within the Strait of Juan de Fuca and Puget Sound, WA is applicable. Work items shall include: production of a control GANTT Bar Chart; hull plating underwater body inspect; hull plating, underwater body ultrasonic testing; exhaust port hull plating renewal (CGC OSPREY only); appendages (underwater) leak test; appendages underwater preserve internal; voids (non-accessible) leak test; voids (non-accessible) preserve internal; tanks (mp fuel service) clean and inspect; hatch combing replacement; notch pad renewal (CGC WAHOO only); propulsion shaft seals mechanical overhaul and inflatable renewal; propulsion shaft bearings (external) check clearances; propeller clean/inspect; MDE exhaust cooling ring renewal; fathometer transducer renewal; tachometers (critical) calibration; sounding tube repairs (CGC OSPREY only); sea valve (<=2.5 inches) renewal (CGC WAHOO only); AFFF engine room bilge flooding piping installation; installation of new hydraulic system; rudders and rudder stocks removal and inspection; grey water holding tank(s) clean and inspect; sewage holding tank clean & inspect; sewage piping cleaning & inspection (CGC OSPREY only); joiner panel renewal (CGC WAHOO only); mast preservation (CGC OSPREY only); hull plating underwater body preserve partial; rudders (exterior) preserve; hull plating freeboard preserve (CGC OSPREY only); deck coverings (interior polymeric) reseal; temporary services dry-dock provide; sea trials; dry-docking accomplish; exhaust port hull plating repair (CGC WAHOO only); appendages (underwater) air test; voids (underwater) air test; hull plating underwater body preserve (100%). On or about 31 December 2008, an Invitation for Bid (IFB) will be available electronically at www.fbo.gov. This is a Total Small Business set-aside procurement. Only certified 100% small business contractors may submit a bid. The NAICS code assigned to this procurement will be 336611 with a size standard of less than 1,000 employees.
