Description
The U.S. Army Research, Development and Engineering Contracting Center intends to issue a Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) on or about 19 December 2008 for Soldier Wearable-Gunfire Detection System (SW-GDS) technology enhancement program in support of the U.S Army Program Executive Office Soldier (PEO Soldier)-Product Manager Soldier Sensors and Lasers (PM-SSL). The BAA will be issued on an unrestricted basis. The objective of the SW-GDS program is to refine current technology into a system that meets PM-SSL requirements and demonstrates end-to-end performance of the system on Government test ranges. PM-SSL seeks offerors with more than bread broad or lab bench prototypes SW-GDS technology that would be enhanced further in capability by this program. The SW-GDS must detect sniper fire, provide alert data containing bearing and range to the source of fire and visually display the results on the individual soldiers display. The SW-GDS technology enhancement program is scheduled to run from FY09 to FY10 with an estimated 12 month period of performance. The total estimated funding is $2.9 Million and multiple awards may be made. The anticipated contract type is Firm Fixed Price (FFP) level of effort. All offerors shall notice that the Government reserves the right to select for award all, some or none of the proposals received. In addition total estimated funding for the SW-GDS program and number of award anticipated are not certain.
