Description
The following are questions and answers received from various vendors: Question 1: It shows "Six (6) Disc Brakes". I'm not sure what that means... unless you are looking at getting (triple axles) Answer 1: Yes, we require triple axles for added weight capacity. Question 2: It also DOES NOT HAVE the LENGTH OF THIS TRAILER? I see height and width but not the length. Answer 2: 28' in length Question 3: CAN YOU PLEASE EXPLAIN OR CLAIRIFY THE FOLLOWING: Air/02 Charging Shelves on outside of trailer, with three (3) pressure gauges per shelve connected to the atlas cases w/6208 cylinders. Answer 3: Atlas cases are protective hard-shell boxes for the 6208 cylinders. 6208 cylinders are carbon fiber wrapped bottles. The air/O2 charging shelves are fold down shelving utilized in the recharging of SCBAs. They also double as tables. Question 4: Dimensions - 7 ¼' L X 4' D - do you have any pictures or model numbers that we could reference? Answer 4: There are no photos or model numbers available. Question 5: Can you clarify what is the Maintenance Lift for Charger w/receptacle. 10'6" 2ND Floor (Wood Covering) Answer 5: This is the power box for running the lift for an external power source. Question 6: What style hitch for this unit? Gooseneck, bumper pull or 5th wheel Answer 6: Bumper pull for Ford 750. Question 7: 110 V package, Please define what this package with items and amounts and location of, interior or exterior. Answer 7: The requirement is for receptacles in the interior. Two (2) each located on the port side, starboard side and front of trailer. Question 8: You have mentioned 6 disc brakes of what style, electric, hydraulic or air system? Answer 8: Electric Question 9: "L" shaped cabinets mounted where and overall measurements are needed? Answer 9: Located in front most portion on the trailer with "L" down the left side as you're looking in. Question 10: 10'6" 2nd floor (wood covering) please define with overall dimensions and location Answer 10: 2nd floor is to be long and wide enough as to not interfere cabinets or mounted atlas cases and 6208 cylinders. Question 11: Awnings each side (2) please define as to style and lengths. Answer 11: Standardized length, as far as fold out, to fit length of trailer. Question 12: Air/02 Charging Shelves, please define more and locations, drawings of units and specifications will be extremely helpful. Answer 12: Shelves/tables are dropped down style mounted on port and starboard sides of trailer with no less than three charging stations per side enabling quick fill of SCBAs. Question 13: Shower stations, dimensions and locations also water storage is this usable or waste water or both? Answer 13: Shower stations are to be preferably available on both sides with multiple shower heads. This will be usable. Location is to be concealed and out of the way. Again creative design work comes into play. Relying on input from manufacture to make this happen. Question 14: Internal Intercom system, please define more of specifications and amount. Answer 14: Will consist of external and internal mounted speakers IOT enhance and provide clear/concise clarity during briefings as well as listening to marine weather forecasts. Question 15: Propane tank less water heater, Size specifications and location and will this unit need to be hooked to any system. Answer 15: System will be utilized with showers. Size and specs should be able to safely accommodate for a minimum of 20 individuals. Unit is to be out of the way of lift and workable space. Question 16: 26' folding aluminum roof drying rack with flip up device, please define more drawing and specifications would be helpful. Answer 16: No drawing currently available. Needs to accommodate NLT 20. Question 17: 13' roof aluminum access ladder, will this be permanently mount or be removable and interior or exterior of trailer and location. Answer 17: Access ladder to be permanently mounted. Question 18: Your asking for 2" x 8" tube frame/235 8 lug axles and a few lines below you ask for (7) 225/75r15 radial tires, assuming one is a spare, what size tires should it be? Answer 18: Should be robust tire to support heavy loads and be sustainable in marine/adverse environments. Yes, one tire is to be a spare. Question 19: What color are you looking for? Answer 19: Black Question 20: If the interior height is to be 13' 5" your over all height will be over 15', bridge laws allow max exterior height of no more then 13'-13'6" for trucks and/or trailers, is this what you want? Answer 20: Trailer should not be over 13'6. Exterior height is to be within specifications mandated by law. Accessories adding to additional height will only be utilized while trailer has ceased all movement and is setup for operational readiness. Question 21: "4-LED tail lights in the rear header", do you mean in the rear corner post, with LED marker lights in rear header? Answer 21: Yes Question 22: Two (2) 14"x14" roof vents, do you want these units to be 12 volt powered? If your interior height is to be tall, you would need a 6' ladder to open and close these vents. Answer 22: 12 volt powered roof vents. Question 23: The specs call for 225 75 R15 radial tires but I see something listed as 2" X 8" Tube Frame/235 8-Lug Axles. Do they want an axle upgrade (to 6000# ILO of 5200#) or do they want a hub upgrade/tire upgrade? Answer 23: Need axle upgrade as well as hub/tire upgrade. Question 24: Awnings each side of exterior (2) each. Does this mean they want a total of 4 awnings? Two on each side? Answer 24: A total of two awnings one on each side. Question 25: Where do you want the spare tire mounted? Answer 25: Preferably in the front out of the way or will consider recommendations. Question 26: We will need the length of the awnings to quote. Answer 26: Standard size to run entire length of trailer. Prefer manual type. Question 27: The 250gal water storage tank is to supply ALL the showers correct? Answer 27: Yes Question 28: You are asking for an interior height of 13'-5". That will make it too tall overall to travel under normal freeway bridges. Is this the right interior box dimension? Answer 28: The requirement of 13'5" for the interior is not accurate. Interior height will be approximately 10' overall and a second floor height of approximately 6'4". Question 29: I assume that the frame for the trailer is steel and that the siding and roof are aluminum. Is this correct? Answer 29: All aluminum frame, siding, and roof. Question 30: The metal cabinets come in various qualities from the ultra cheap utility room style to the top flight race car work cabinets. The price range for these cabinets can have a spread of close to $3000.00. Without specifying the exact cabinet you desire you will not have a way to compare bids on a level playing field...suggestions? Answer 30: Looking for durability, strength, and overall functionality. Cabinets will need to withstand long term sustainment. Cheap utility style cabinets will be unacceptable. Question 31: 5200lb axles are not sufficient for any stacker. Need to know payload requirements. Answer 31: Payload of approximately 15,000. Question 32: The spec quotes an interior height of 13'-5". Is that supposed to be the exterior height? 13'-6" is the tallest legal exterior height allowed on the road. If the interior of the trailer is 13'-5" there is no way to get the frame, axles and tires under the box and still have it at legal limit. Answer 32: Please keep trailer height at 13'6". Interior height is approximately 10' with a second floor height of approximately 6'4". Question 33: Is there a floor plan for the proposed trailer? Answer 33: There is no specific floor plan. Open to all inputs. Question 34: Is there more of an explanation for what the 26' drying rack is? (brand, drawing?) Answer 34: This item will be built as a specialty item. Currently it does not exist. Question 35: What is this trailer being used for? Answer 35: Trailer is to be a multifunctional asset in the transport of diving gear, jump equipment, and SCBAs. Will also be mobile command post during training evolutions. Question 36: The 7 Way plug/breakaway kit/safety chain - is this for ball or pintle hook? Answer 36: Ball Question 37: 110 V Package - How many outlets? Lights? Switches? Also, is it to have generator power or shore power? Answer 37: Total of 6 outlets. Two each on port side, starboard side, and front interior. Fluorescent lights, two switches. Want capabilities of both (generator and shore power). Question 38: The Air/02..... Are these tanks to pressurize the water for showers? Answer 38: No Question 39: Propane tank less water heater - How many? How big of propane tank? Answer 39: Enough to heat shower water. Seven (7) or ten (10) gallons depending on space and storage location. Question 40: 26' Folding Aluminum Roof Mounted Drying Rack w/flip up device - Is there a drawing available? Answer 40: There is no drawing available. Question 41: The solicitation cites the 5,200# axle requirement, however, 8-lug wheels are also indicated, please be advised industry standard for these axles is 6-lug. Answer 41: Please advise on three 8000lb axles in quoting. Question 42: Does the team desire tie downs on the frame for transportation by either sea or air? Answer 42: Yes Question 43:.040 exterior aluminum skin has been specified, for a unit of this height,.050 is recommended..040 is a proper upgrade to the standard.030; however, in sheets this tall it tends to show buckling. Answer 43: Annotate on quote to reflect the upgrade to.050. Question 44: Does the team desire the exterior skin to be screwed or screw-less (smooth)? Answer 44: Screw-less (smooth) Question 45: Roof vents have been specified. Please remember in a unit of this height, roof vents will be difficult to access. A viable option would be Fantastic Vent brand vents. These vents feature 12v fans, are thermostatically controlled, either inhale or exhale, automatically close in the rain and have wall mount controls. Answer 45: Include option in quote. Question 46: (2) 12v interior lights have been specified, be advised 12v dome lights are very inexpensive (industry standard $10.00 ea). The team may want to add interior lighting. In addition, we can provide two banks of light on separate circuits and switches allowing the team the option of outfitting one bank with red bulbs. Answer 46: Add additional interior lighting and under cabinet lighting as well. Question 47: For the ell shaped overhead cabinets, is the intention for the cabinets to be 7' with a 4' return, 4' tall or 4' deep? Please describe. Answer 47: Cabinets are to be 7' against front of trailer and 4' down the side with approximate 16 ¼ depth. Need to be durable / heavy duty in construction. Question 48: What is the intended use of the Gemini lift? How much weight do you intend to lift and what is the height of the lifted object? Also which style of lift would best suit the team's needs? Lift gate or interior? Answer 48: Intended usage will be for storage during transporting equipment allowing more overall hauling capacity. Weight intended will be 2000 - 5000lbs. Interior lift. Question 49: Do you seek a "maintenance lift for the charger" or a "maintenance charger for the lift"? Answer 49: Maintenance charger for the lift. Question: 50: Please describe the team's desired configuration for the second floor. Answer 50: Second floor will be utilized for storage capacity. Question 51: Please describe the team's needs for the 110v package. Are fluorescent lights needed? Answer 51: Yes, include fluorescent under cabinets. Question 52: How many exterior GFI receptacles are required? Answer 52: One on each side Question 53: Does the team desire any exterior 500w halogen scene lights? Answer 53: Yes Quotes are due no later than 3:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time on 15 December 2008.
