- Notice. This is not a solicitation of offers. Under Statutory Authority 41 USC 253 (c )(5) and 38 USC 1720 the Government anticipates entering into sole source acquisition negotiations for placement and services of eligible veterans into a nursing home facility located in Providence County, Rhode Island as follows: Burrillville Nursing Home, doing business as Pine Grove Health Center, 999 South Main Street, Pascoag, Rhode Island 02859. This acquisition is for the Geriatrics and Extended Care (GEC) Service at VA Medical Center Providence, Rhode Island (VAMC Providence). The Basic Ordering Agreements is a base year with four (4) one-year options. The above authority is cited and justification made based on the determination that the Government's needs can best be satisfied by services available from one source in a specific area of responsibility. This action is for services which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under FAR 6.302-5 for commercial services in accordance with the format in Federal acquisition Regulation (FAR) 13 and 15 as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. The referenced solicitation number is VA-241-09-RP-0088 and is issued based upon this notice. The NAICS is 623110 ($13.5M). The PSC is Q402. This notice is current through FAC 2005-29. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received as a result of the notice of intent will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive acquisition.
