- USACE, ERDC Contracting Office proposes to issue a sole source award to Trautwein Soil Testing Equipment Co., 6909 Ashcroft, #104, Houston, TX 77081. The purpose of the award is for the vendor to provide the Geotechnical and Structures Laboratory (GSL) with auto-repetitive direct shear and auto-consolidometers in order to perform quality analyses. GSL must perform Quality Assurance analyses of testing done by labs contracted by New Orleans District (NOD). Geotechnical analyses are based on precise laboratory testing; therefore, it is necessary to use the same equipment in order to validate results. The purchase of this equipment and associated reporting software will also ensure compatible results between numerous contract laboratories and the Government. A firm-fixed price award will be made utilizing the Simplified Acquisition Procedures. Any other responsible source able to provide the supplies is encouraged to respond to this announcement within 5 days after its publication. This is not a request for quotations and there is no solicitation available at this time.
