- Description
- The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) intends to award a modification to an existing contract with the Academy for Education and Development (AED) on a noncompetitive, cost only (no fee) basis. The Field Epidemiology and Laboratory Training Program (FELTP) in Pakistan is to train local personnel to respond to epidemics. The end of the period of performance for the contract and the proposed modification is August 31, 2009. No follow-on contract is planned. The proposed modification will cover approximately eleven training courses ranging from 5 days to 8 weeks, with number of participants ranging from 10 to 30. As a part of the training, staff and trainees may respond to epidemic outbreaks for actual field experience. For continuation and consistency of this training it is imperative to utilize AED for this modification. AED's ability to perform this work in a timely manner will enable training for more Pakistani personnel needed for increasing numbers of epidemic outbreaks.
