- This synopsis is intended to inform potential private sector partners that the Armys Research, Development & Engineering Command (RDECOM) intends to host an industry forum on January 28, 2009 for its upcoming acquisition of consulting, mentoring, and training services in support of the Combined Security Transition Command Afghanistan (CSTC-A). Ultimately, the service providers personnel will be embedded with the Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistans Ministry of Defense/Afghan National Army and Ministry of Interior/Afghan National Police to serve as trainers, advisors, and mentors. The purpose of this forum is to obtain feedback on a draft solicitation which is scheduled to be released on or about January 12, 2009. The forum location is the Yorktown Room of the Fort Belvoir Officers Club, Fort Belvoir, VA. The discussion is scheduled to begin at 0830 with presentations from government personnel lasting until 1100. At 1300, each company will be afforded the opportunity to meet with the government team for a confidential 15 minutes session. If your company plans to attend the forum, please submit the following information via email to evan.r.shockley@us.army.mil: Your name, title, email address and phone number, Company name and website url (if applicable), and projected number of attendees. For more information on CSTC-A, please visit its website: www.cstc-a.com. Directions: From Washington DC (1-95 South): Take the Fairfax Parkway/Backlick Road (7100) exit 166 A. Take the Fairfax County Parkway to its end at U.S. Rt. 1 (Richmond Highway.) Turn left. At the first light, on the right, is the entrance for Tulley Gate on to Fort Belvoir. This is the main entrance to the post and is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. From Richmond (1-95 North): Take the Fort Belvoir Exit 161 B. (U.S. Rt 1 -- Richmond Highway) You will travel five miles to Fort Belvoir. Continue through the light at the Fairfax County Parkway (VA 7100). At the next stoplight, on the right side, you will see the Tulley Gate entrance. All visitors to Fort Belvoir without DOD decals on their vehicles must stop at Tulley Gate to receive a temporary vehicle pass (you will need your driver's license, purpose of visit and current vehicle registration. For rentals, this is the pink slip the company provides to you when renting the car. The dates of rental must match the dates you want to enter Fort Belvoir.). Once inside Fort Belvoir, directions to the event venue are as follows: Get back on Pohick Road. Take a right on Gunston Road (2nd light). Follow Gunston until it ends at the Night Vision Gate (DO NOT TRY TO ENTER THE NIGHT VISION GATE). Take a left onto 23rd Street. Take a right onto Belvoir Road. Take a left onto Woodlawn Drive. Follow Woodlawn to the traffic circle which ends at the Fort Belvoir Officer's Club. There is parking on the left of the building Industry Day will be held in the Yorktown Room on the 2nd floor.
