Description
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Western Service Area is soliciting competitive proposals for a contractor to renovate and refurbish the Employee Dining Complex in the Salt Lake City Air Route Traffic Control Center (ARTCC), located in Salt Lake City, Utah. The project includes furnishing all labor, materials, equipment, transportation, insurance, notifications, licenses, permits, fees and supervision necessary to renovate and refurbish various areas of the Salt Lake City Air Route Traffic Control Center in accordance with the specifications, contract clauses, and wage rates. This project renovates, upgrades systems, and constructs a new Employee Dining Complex in the old Kitchen/Cafeteria area on the first floor of the Administration Wing at the Salt Lake City ARTCC. Work includes removal and replacement of existing interior finishes; removal of asbestos containing material (floor tile mastic and duct insulation tape cement); installation of mechanical systems (air handler units, ductwork, exhaust fans, DDC controls, piping, plumbing, fixtures, and modifications to the fire protection system); installation of electrical systems (fire detection, lighting, power, LAN, telephone, and PA speakers); Miscellaneous demolition; and construction of new employee spaces (rest room, self-help kitchen, locker area, vending, mail slots, employee lounge, computer stations, and dining area). The estimated dollar value for this contract is between $500,000.00 and $1,000,000.00 A tiered evaluation of offers will be used in source selection for this contract, and offers from other-than small business concerns will only be considered after the determination that an insufficient number of offers from responsible small business concerns were received (see Part VII, Section M for details). The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 236220 (General Contactor) for this construction project. Additionally, this NAICS code a small business is defined as a size standard with a maximum size standard of $33.5 million. A mandatory site visit at the Salt Lake City ARTCC Building is scheduled for Wednesday, December 17, 2008 at 9:00 a.m. Contact Michael Fitch at 801-320-2522 for contact information and building security issues. The FAA anticipates releasing the solicitation package consisting of the Request for Offer (RFO), Specifications, and Drawings, approximately December 10, 2008. The bid packages are due at the FAA Northwest Mountain Region Office no later than 4:00 P.M., January 13, 2009, (Local Time); however, the bid package due date may be adjusted depending on the actual solicitation package release date.
