- Description
- The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has a requirement for the acquisition of an Easat Antennas Ltd. model EA6501 antenna fitted with the Easat anti-icing modification which will allow the continued use of the radar system in severe cold weather environments. These items are critical to enhance the availability and reliability required in FAA ASDE-X surface radar systems. The requirement is for a one-time fixed-price contract, with a one-time option to buy additional antennas and associated hardware following technical approval to be exercised at the sole discretion of the FAA. The FAA intends to solicit and negotiate only with Easat Antennas Ltd, Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent, England, in accordance with AMS Policy 3.2.2.4. A market survey was conducted from July 28, 2008, through August 15, 2008. The results of this survey supported the determination to solicit and negotiate with only one firm.
