Description
The Missile Defense Agency, Aegis Ballistic Missile Defense Program (MDA/AB) intends to award a follow-on sole source contract to Corvid Technologies for computational analysis for Aegis Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD) Flight Missions and related activities. The results of these analyses will be used for pre- and post-test predictions for Aegis BMD Flight Test Missions (FTMs), as well as perform other Weapon Systems Effectiveness (WSE) and lethality-related analyses. Under the proposed contract, Corvid Technologies will continue to develop and modify input decks as the Standard Missile-3 (SM-3) kinetic warhead and threat designs evolve and continue to provide analysis of Aegis BMD FTMs as well as perform other WSE and lethality-related analyses. Corvid is the original designer and developer of the input decks and possesses the fundamental experience and functioning knowledge upon which the original input decks were built. As such Corvid Technologies is the only source with the requisite knowledge, expertise and experience to develop and deliver modifications to the input decks in the required timeframes necessary to meet mission requirements. This knowledge cannot be attained by any other contractor in the anticipated period of performance without incurring substantial costs to the Aegis BMD Program. The anticipated period of performance is 5 years (includes 12-month base and 4 12-month options). The proposed contract action is for Mathematical Algorithm and Computational Analysis expertise for which the government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1) as implemented by FAR 6.302. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. Companies interested in subcontracting opportunities should contract Corvid Technologies, Inc. directly. See note 22. Rachel N. Luther, Contracting Officer, Phone (540) 663-6529, Fax (540) 284-0245, Email Rachel.luther@mda.mil
