- NUWC (Naval Undersea Warfare Center) Keyport WA requires accelerometers, 300 each for delivery by December 8, 2009 (plus option for additional 300 qty within a year), mfgr: Silicon Designs Inc p/n: 1221L-010. This component is for use in military aircraft, and for that reason this item must be qualified for the end item assembly by NAVAIR. This qualification testing has an estimated cost to the vendor to qualify at $1.5M, along with an estimated 2-year time-frame to quality. For this reason, NUWC has no reasonable expectation of obtaining timely, competitive offers - and this announcement constitutes the combined pre- and solicitation notice. Quotes are being requested and a written solicitation is issued. The solicitation document incorporates the provisions and clauses in effect through Federal Acquisitions Circular 2001-09. Due to urgency, this requirement will be negotiated on an other than full and open competition basis in accordance with 10 USC 2304(c)(1) ! with the original material manufacturer, Silicon Designs Inc, 1445 NW Mall St, Issaquah, WA 98027-8945, as implemented by FAR 6.302-1. The applicable NAICS Code for this requirement is 334519 and a size standard of 500. The following provisions apply to this solicitation, (1) Price: Award will be made based on price and the following evaluation factors: Single award for both line items. (2) Delivery: Offerors must meet the required delivery date. (3) Responsibility: Offerors must meet the standard for FAR 9.104. Offerors are advised quotes/offers are due no later than Monday, 1 Dec 09, 1000 hours Pacific Daylight Savings Time. The Defense Priorities and Allocations System (DPAS) applicable assigned rating for this requirement is DO-A1.
