- The VA Medical Center, Wilkes-Barre, is seeking sources to provide A/E services to include site investigation, design development, drawings and specifications, cost estimates, construction period services and site visits. This project consists of the Professional Design Services for the development of Construction Bid Documents and related Construction Period Services for the renovation of approximately 7300 SF of existing 4th Floor Community Living Center space to house a Cardiology Catheterization Lab Suite and a Hemodialysis Suite. The project shall include complete suite design for each service, including site preparations required for the relocation and incorporation of new and existing equipment, specific to each service. The A/E shall be required to coordinate the design effort around the installation of newly purchased medical equipment which will not be on-site prior to installation. Work under Project No. 693-07-109 Cardiac Catheterization/Hemodialysis Renovation Project may include architectural, structural, electrical, mechanical/HVAC design for the proposed location. The intent of the project is to provide a modern, functional and aesthetically pleasing space for the efficient and comfortable delivery of services. The design shall be in accordance with VA Space Criteria and VA Master Construction Specifications, as well as all applicable Federal, State and Local codes. Work under this project may involve environmental considerations, such as lead paint and/or asbestos removal, which shall be addressed within the design and included within the Construction Bid Package. The estimated construction budget is $1,000,000 to $5,000,000. NAICS Code 541330 applies. The area of consideration for this acquisition is restricted to firms within 150 driving miles of the VA Medical Center in Wilkes-Barre. This is not a request for proposals. This procurement is issued on an unrestricted basis in accordance with the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program. Interested firms must submit three (3) copies of SF330 with appropriate documentation to Karen Whalen, Contracting Officer (693/049B), VAMC, 1111 East End Boulevard, Wilkes-Barre, PA 18711 by the close of business December 19, 2008. Award is subject to the availability of funds.
