Description
Provide all labor, materials, tools, equipment and supervision to provide Design/Build Services for Increase Medicine Beds, Project 521-326, at the VA Medical Center, Birmingham, AL, in accordance with design program, conceptual drawings and specifications. Work includes complete design-build services for the design and construction, in existing space, to create a new modern Dental Clinic on the 1st and 2nd floors of the Dental/Blind Rehab Wind and a 17-bed Nursing Unit of the "B" Wing of the 6th floor of the medical center. The new Nursing Unit will consist of 17 medical beds and other support spaces within the designated space on the 6th floor "B" wind of the main building. The new Dental Clinic will consist of approximately 26 operatories, dental lab, workrooms, waiting space, reception/check-in space, restrooms and other support space within the designated space. Cost range is between $5,000,000 and $10,000,000. NAICS Code 236220 Commercial and Institutional Building Contractors and size standard $33.5 million applies. The solicitation package and drawings should be available for download on or about 12/4/08. Proposals submitted in response to this solicitation will be evaluated in accordance with the following factors: 1. Cost; 2. Construction Management including corporate project experience, personnel experience, technical/management approach; 3. Past performance; and 4. Schedule. All technical factors when combined are equal in importance to cost or price. No hard copies of the solicitation or drawings will be provided. All responsible sources may submit a bid which shall be considered by DVA. This procurement is subject to the availability of funds. This procurement is set aside for veteran-owned small businesses.
