Description
This project consists of providing all materials, equipment, transportation, supervision, and labor to perform demolition and construction for five roll-up doors in Building 878 (AC&T) at Arnold Engineering Development Center, Arnold AFB Tennessee. The extend of the work is contained in the specifications. Doors to be replaced are numbers 39, 55, 56, 57, 58, and 59. Door numbers 56, 57, 58, and 59 have rough opening dimensions of 17-feet 6-inches wide by 23-feet tall. Door numbers 39, and 55 have rough opening dimensions of 20-feet 2 ½-inches wide by 23-feet 3-inches tall. The doors shall consist of the following items: (a.) Hood. (b.) Hood Baffle. (c.) Full weather seal. (d.) Motor starters, controls, and wiring. (e.) Motor operator - 1 ½ hp. (f.) Exterior motor cover. (g.) Constant pressure switch. The extent of the work may include, but is not limited to the following: (1) Demolition of existing doors. The contractor shall dispose of existing door to salvage yard per Government Representative. (2) Removal of existing motor starters, control enclosures, and feeder circuit wiring. (3) Existing wiring may contain asbestos. Contractor shall perform all work in accordance with specification section 02 08 00. (4) Prep work to attach new doors to existing concrete or block walls. (5) Installation of new doors per OSHA standards. (6) Sizing and installation of new breakers, feeders, conduit, fuses, and wiring as required for installation of new systems. (7) Installation of combination motor starters as specified. (8) Coordinate locations of door controllers with Government Representative and Building Manager. (9) Other incidental tasks and repairs necessary to complete the work as required by the specifications Performance period is 84 calendar days following Notice to Proceed. Invitation for Bid will be available on or about 26 November 2008. Bid opening date will be on or about 6 January 2009. Construction Magnitude: Between $100,000 and $250,000. Invitation for Bid (IFB) will only be available electronically at the FBO website. No hardcopies, faxes, or emails will be available. Please register as a source to be notified of IFB Amendments, Clarifications, etc. However, it is the responsibility of contractors (even those registered as a source) to check the FBO website frequently to ensure they have all available information.
