- STORAGE BATTERIES FOR MATERIAL HANDLING EQUIPMENT Solicitation Number: SP3100-09-R-0002 Classification Code: 6140 – Storage Batteries NAICS Code: 335911 Set-Aside: Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business Contracting Office Address: Defense Logistics Agency, Acquisition Management, Defense Distribution Center, J Avenue, Bldg 404, New Cumberland, PA, 17070-5001, UNITED STATES Description: The Defense Distribution Center has a requirement for Storage Batteries for Material Handling Equipment (MHE) that includes, but is not limited to forklifts, stock selectors, sweepers, tow tractors, and turret trucks located at Defense Distribution Depots to include, but may not be limited to, the Defense Distribution Center Susquehanna PA (DDSP), Red River, TX (DDRT), Warner Robins, GA (DDWG), Norfolk, VA (DDNV), and Oklahoma City, OK (DDOO). The solicitation will result in a requirements type contract with firm fixed prices. The estimated period of performance will be for one base year with four (4) one-year option periods. This acquisition is 100% set-aside for Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business Concerns. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this requirement is 335911 and the small business side standard is 500 employees. This requirement will be issued as a Request for Proposal SP3100-09-R-0002 in accordance with FAR Subpart 12 and FAR Subpart 15 procedures. It is anticipated that Request for Proposal SP3100-09-R-0002 will be posted to this site the week of December 15, 2008. Amendments to the Request for Proposal will also be posted to this site. Prospective offerors are cautioned concerning their responsibility to access the website for any amendments that may be issued under the solicitation. There will be no advance notification of amendment issuance. NOTE: All offerors MUST be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) Database at http://www.ccr.gov or an award cannot be processed. The Government intends to award a contract resulting from this solicitation to the responsible offeror using the lowest price/technically acceptable source selection process. The solicitation will provide the evaluation factors for award. The solicitation will also identify all information that the prospective offeror must submit in order to be considered for award. Failure to submit all the information requested by the solicitation may result in the proposal being eliminated from consideration for award.
