- The Dahlgren Division, Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWCDD), intends to award a sole source contract to ARC Technologies, Inc., 11 Chestnut Street, Amesbury, MA 01913 for CLIN 0001 (50) Radar Absorbers description: 51028-4 48"x36". This requirement is sole sourced to ARC because there is no other known company that has a product that can meet the specialized function and No Foreign Nationals (NOFORN) requirements of the radar absorbers they provide. ARC Part # 51028-4 is a specially formulated custom Radar Absorber (RAM) that is unique and proprietary to ARC, Technologies, Inc. The required size (36" x 48") is especially critical to the application and longevity of the material after it is installed on US Navy ships. The radar absorbers must be durable enough to withstand the handling/ installation process encountered in the shipboard environment and still be able to maintain its performance. Other companies have tried to produce this material in the past; however all! of them were unsuccessful. Award is to be made under simplified acquisition procedures in accordance with FAR 13 as a Firm Fixed Price purchase order. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 335999 and the small business size standard is 500 employees. THIS ANNOUNCEMENT CONSITITUES THE ONLY REQUEST FOR QUOTATION, AS ALL ITEMS ARE SPECIFIED UNDER THIS NOTICE AND A WRITTEN SOLICITATION WILL NOT BE ISSUED. This synopsis will close on 10 December 2008 at noon ET. Please use reference number N00178-09-Q-3923 when responding to this announcement. In order to be eligible for award firms must be! registered in the Central Contractor Registry (CCR). Vendors may obtain information on registration in the CCR by calling 1-888-227-2423, or via the Internet at http://www.ccr.gov. Please note that defense payment offices may not make payment unless the contractor is established to receive electronic funds transfer (EFT).
