Description
VENDOR WILL SET UP AND PERFORM SERVICE ON 18 AND 19 FEB 2009 AT GOETTGE MEMORIAL FIELD HOUSE. Sample Program Contents: (Shows vary from high school, college, and military) Program Begins A 12-minute introductory video* of the devastating effects of drinking and driving. This high-impact video* starts out with a disclaimer that will state, WARNING! WHAT YOU ARE ABOUT TO SEE IS VERY GRAPHIC AND IS NOT FOR THE FAINT AT HEART. THIS VIDEO IS NOT ACTING. THIS IS REAL LIFE AND USES FOOTAGE FROM ACTUAL EVENTS TO SHOW HOW DEVASTATING DRINKING AND DRIVING IS. This video* will show: Actual drinking and driving accidents Police response to the scene Emergency room scenes Uncensored family responses Screeching brakes, crying, screaming, sirens, flashing lights, blood, and injuries in relation to drinking and driving accident footage * This video is an extreme reality program that will impact viewers and participants for the rest of their lives. The vide! o is truly not for the faint at heart. It is highly graphic and very true-to-life. The Introductions Lights come up and an offstage announcer introduces the presenter The presenter will wear attire that is neat, but current fashion styles. This establishes a peer relationship with the audience, as opposed to an authority figure Lecture ( 12-30 minutes at client's discretion, as based on the audience and venue ). Presenter will: Relate their personal experience with a life altering drinking and driving incident, setting the tone for the entire program Quote current national statistics from recognized sources to illustrate how serious the problem is Give details on how the simulator works and what it will do for the participants Clarify that the SAVE A LIFE simulator was designed for the sole purpose of showing how alcohol affects reaction times and motor skills from a sober perspective Describe how tunnel vision and becoming singularly-focused occurs ! when under the influence of alcohol Explain how implanting a split-second delay in the SAVE A LIFE simulators responsiveness, participants will demonstrate virtually every tendency that a driver would while under the influence of alcohol Make clear that because of the realism of the simulation, participants may briefly experience an altered state of equilibrium when exiting the SAVE A LIFE simulator Participant Interaction with Simulator The presenter will: Cycle participants through the SAVE A LIFE simulator, pointing out the effects stated above to spectators as they occur in each simulation Discuss the experience with each participant and reinforce their experience until he or she thoroughly understands how they were affected and why Participants are NOT allowed to laugh, joke, or make light of the SAVE A LIFE simulator or program in any way. This will be means for dismissal from the program entirely. This is a shocking, in-your-face presentation of reality, addressing the very real and often fatal consequences of poor choic! es, and should not in any way be confused with a video game Following this presentation, frequently for assembly-type programs, sponsors will desire to have the audience retire and return in smaller groups to experience the SAVE A LIFE simulator in a more intimate setting Depending upon the venue, steps 1-4 will be repeated throughout the contracted event at the request of the client
