Description
The scope of work for this project location shall include but not limited to the following: The Contractor shall be responsible for protecting the engines and pumps during all phases of construction. Remove all siding, roofing, insulation; personnel doors, overhead doors, vents, fans, heaters, and engine mufflers from the building. Remove all secondary steel members, leaving only the main steel frame, and the crane beams and rails. Clean and paint the remaining structural steel frame, including all roof beams, vertical columns, crane beam, and crane rail. Install new secondary steel framing. Install new insulation, siding, roofing, windows, vents, fans, walkthrough doors, overhead doors, mufflers, gutters, downspouts, and other related items. Remove both interior steps, disassemble, regalvanize, and reinstall. The project shall include the removal, refurbishment, and reinstallation of the two existing electric motors and right angle gear drives and the two existing vertical mixed flow propeller pumps. The project shall also include removal, assessment, refurbishment, and reinstallation of the two existing natural gas horizontal axial flow propeller pumps and the one existing fuel oil horizontal axial flow propeller pump and their respective engines. The scope of work also includes removal and repair of the existing heat exchangers and the cleaning, flushing, and repair of the existing water supply system piping, lubrication piping, natural gas piping, compressed air piping, and fuel oil supply piping and piping system components. In addition, the project shall include the cleaning of all tanks and the repair, cleaning, testing, and relocation of the existing diesel fuel tank. The project shall also include the replacement of all damaged piping and system components and the replacement of the air compressor and air receiver. Compressed air piping and connections serving the two existing natural gas engines shall be removed so that the compressed air system will only serve the grease lubricator and provide service air. The scope of work shall also include battery start, to replace the existing air start, for the two existing natural gas engines. The scope of work shall also include removal, refurbishment, and reinstallation of the existing grease lubricant pump, vacuum pump, and the vacuum primer pump. The water supply pump shall be replaced. The project shall also include inspection and cleaning of the sumps and trash racks by divers. The Contractor shall inspect the overhead crane and certify to the Contracting Officer that it is in condition to be used before he uses it, the overhead crane shall be cleaned and all moving parts shall be lubricated in accordance with the manufacture recommendations. Remove all receptacles, toggle switches, light fixtures, air compressor controllers and disconnects, heater controls and thermostats, louver and exhaust fan control, fuel oil pump controls, premises wiring, service entrance panelboard MP, service entrance conductors, lighting panelboard PP, lighting transformer, telephone wiring and boxes, outdoor pump motor controllers. Remove, refurbish, and reinstall the two 400 HP outdoor pump motors. Coordinate with the telephone company to install new phone service. Coordinate with the utility company to replace meter base and CT-PT cabinet. Clean all existing conduit and electrical boxes. Replace all lighting, air compressor controllers, heater controls and thermostats, louver and exhaust fan controls, fuel oil pump controls, all receptacles and toggle switches, panelboards MP and PP, lighting transformer, and new outdoor pump motor controllers. The estimated price range of the project is $1,000,000 to $5,000,000. The solicitation documents will be posted to www.fbo.gov on or about November 19, 2008.
