- Description
- The Bureau of Reclamation intends to issue a Request for Proposals for a firm fixed contract for static load testing of the Folsom Dam Spill Gate A-Frame and Lifting Beam Frame. The intent of this procurement is to certify the design load capacity of the A-Frame and the associated Lifting Beam Frame which have recently been modified:The design load capacity of the A-Frame is 150,000 lbs and requires load testing at 125% of the design load capacity for certification purposes. Therefore, a total load of 187,500 lbs needs to be successfully incurred by the A-Frame, 6" diameter pin, two 2-1/4" diameter bolts, welds, etc. The Lifting Beam Frame weighs 16,000 lbs and thus the total load that needs to be rigged to the lifting beam frame latches (see sketch and drawings 485-208-1223 and 1224) is 171,500 lbs. Therefore, each latch shall be loaded at 50% of the total rigged load or 85,750 lbs each. Solicitation 09SQ240012 will be posted to http://www.fbo.gov on or about November 14, 2008. The date for receipt of proposals will be approximately November 21, 2008. This acquisition may be reserved for small businesses if there is adequate interest. Firms should identify business size (i.e. small business, other than small business, etc.) in accordance with the size standard for NAICS Code 238990 which is $13 Million. This notice may represent the only official notice of such a solicitation. The solicitation must be downloaded at the above website, no paper copy of this solicitation will be distributed. Prospective contractors MUST be actively registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database at http://www.ccr.gov to be eligible for award.
