Description
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS: The Federal Bureau of Prisons, United States Penitentiary Lewisburg, located at 2400 Robert Miller Jr. Drive, Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, 17837. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. RFQ-20704-0003-9 is issued as a Request for Quote. This acquisition is a total small business set-aside. The NAICS code for this requirement is 332312; the small business size standard is 500 employees. DESCRIPTION OF ITEMS: All structural steel items must have a hot dipped galvanized finish. ITEM#1 STRUCTURAL STEEL TUBING, 4" X 4" X 1/4" WALL THKS. X 9'-7-1/2" LONG (QUANTITY 198 PCS) ITEM#2 STRUCTURAL STEEL TUBING, 4" X 4" X 1/4" WALL THKS. X15'-0" LONG (QUANTITY 66 PCS) ITEM#3 STRUCTURAL STEEL TUBING, 4" X 4" X 1/4" WALL THKS. X 10'-6" LONG (QUANTITY 32 PCS) ITEM#4 STRUCTURAL STEEL TUBING, 4" X 4" X 1/4" WALL THKS. X10'-4" LONG (QUANTITY 84 PCS) ITEM#5 ANGLE, 2" X 2" X 1/4" THK X 6'0" LG (QUANTITY 232 PCS) ITEM#6 PLATE, 8" X 8" X ½" THK. (QUANTITY 198 PCS) Tolerances for the above items: Maximum Variation: (+1/16") (-1/16") SHOP FINISHIING: A) Clean surfaces of rust, scale, grease and foreign matter and rinse to remove surface contamination prior to finishing. B) Etch in a phosphatizing bath for added corrosion resistance. Re-Rinse and apply a sealer coat. C) Shop Finished Surfaces: Electrostatically apply an industrial thermoplastic powder to prepared surface in a five step bonderizing process and bake to a mar resistant finish. D) Finish color to be selected by agency from manufactures standard color charts. EXAMINATION: Verify that provided items meet the minimum quality requirements of the manufacturer and these specifications. DELIVERY: Package and ship to protect the finish and structure of all items. Tag items with associated lengths for ease of identification during installation. ****All materials must be received at USP Lewisburg within 21 days after receipt of award. All responsible sources are encouraged to submit a written offer which will be considered for award. Any contractor interested in obtaining a contract award with the Federal Bureau of Prisons must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) Database at www.ccr.gov. EVALUATION FACTORS: The Government intends to make an award of a firm-fixed price contract on a all-or-none basis. Quotations will be evaluated and award will be based on the lowest price which is technically acceptable. Contractor must be able to provided items no later than 21 days after receipt of order. The Government will make award to the responsible offeror whose offer conforms to this solicitation and is most advantageous to the Government. The proposed price must include all associated charges, fees and delivery cost (FBO Destination) SUBMISSION OF QUOTATIONS: Vendors will be required to submit the following information on company letterhead or business stationary directly to the contracting officer: 1. The Request for Quote Number (RFQ-20704-0002-9); 2. Schedule of Items with Pricing; 3. Contractor DUNS Number and Taxpayer Identification Number; and 4. A complete copy of the provisions at 52.212-3, Offeror Representations and Certifications-Commercial Items (June 2008). Offers are due no later than November 20, 2008 at 4:00 pm, local time.
