- Description
- The Contractor shall provide one (Alpha) helicopter detachment (consisting of two helicopters) to perform ship-based and/or shore-based vertical replenishment services, and other duties as outlined in this Contract. These services shall be provided at any time, day or night, on a 24-hour per day basis. The Government reserves the right to exercise an option to award a second two-helicopter detachment (Bravo). The detachment(s) may be used worldwide; however it is anticipated that the detachment(s) will be used primarily to provide VERTREP in the 2nd, 5th and 6th Fleet areas of operations. The detachment aircraft may be considered “public aircraft” while operating under contract to the Government; however, the Contractor shall be required to maintain and operate the helicopters as if they were civil aircraft in accordance with all applicable Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Regulations and as required by the contract. The RFP is now available. The RFP number is N00033-09-R-1000. Performance will begin on October 1, 2009.
