- Description
- The Army Contracting Agency, Directorate of Contracting at Fort Polk, LA, intends to issue a Request for Quote (RFQ) for Bulk Laundry Services at Fort Polk, Louisiana. The requirement will be set-aside 100% for small business concerns. The Government intends to award a Firm Fixed Price (FFP) Contract based upon lowest price for this requirement. The associated North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 812332 and the small business size standard is $13 million. The Contractor shall furnish all labor, supervision, transportation for pickup and delivery services, supplies, vehicles, tools, materials, facilities and equipment necessary for this bulk laundry service to include providing approximately 5,500 mesh laundry bags that can withstand washing and drying while securing approximately eight (8) pounds of laundry per bag; a method of identification of each bag, transportation to the various FOBs throughout the training area, and efficiently accounting for the bags of laundry. There will be approximately 22 trips made during the required time period of 34 days. The Contractor shall receive, account for, process and return articles tendered for laundry without removing them from the mesh bags. The Contractor shall establish and maintain a system of records to quantify work performed and shall prepare administrative correspondence and reports incidental to the work covered in this contract. The Contractor shall schedule and manage operations to maximize responsiveness, efficiency and economy. The entire solicitation package will be made available on the Federal Business Opportunities (FedBizOpps) website at http://www.fedbizopps.gov/, Army Single Face to Industry (ASFI) website https://acquisition.army.mil/asfi/ and the Fort Polk Directorate of Contracting homepage at http://www.jrtc-polk.army.mil/doc. Requests for copies of the solicitation package by any other means will not be honored. Potential offerors are responsible for monitoring the FedBizOpps, ASFI, and Directorate of Contracting websites for the release of the solicitation package or subsequent solicitation amendments. The RFQ will be issued on or about November 10, 2008. The closing date for submission of offers will be on or about November 12, 2008, 2:00 p.m. C.S.T. Pursuant to FAR 4.1102(a), prospective contractors shall be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database prior to award of a contract. Contractors are encouraged to obtain further information on CCR registration at the following website: http://www.ccr.gov/. This announcement does not obligate the Government to award a contract nor does it obligate the Government to pay for any bid/proposal preparation costs.
