- Description of the work and location: This procurement is for the trash and waste collection & disposal from Bighorn Canyon National Recreation Area, Big Horn County, Montana. The National Park Service requires a firm, fixed-price contract to furnish all labor, materials, equipment and expertise necessary to perform all operations required for the successful completion of the above named project. Work includes, but is not limited to, providing trash/garbage and some recycled material collection and disposal services in the Bighorn Canyon National Recreation Area, Big Horn County, Montana, which is in the vicinity of Fort Smith, Montana. In accordance with the scope of work, stated pick-up schedule, and disposal of same at a state licensed sanitary landfill, for the base period of December 1, 2008 through October 31, 2009. There are also four option periods covering from November 1, 2009 through October 31, 2013. The solicitation will be available by hard copy or by e-mail on or about November 7, 2008. The solicitation number for the Request for Quotation is Q132009P001. Offerors are encouraged to use the maps included in the solicitation to conduct their own site visit. Responses will be due no later than 2:00 pm on November 21, 2008. All responsible sources may submit a quotation which shall be considered by the agency in accordance with the provisions in the solicitation. Award will be made on or about November 28, 2008. Award will be made as a best value procurement using the Simplified Acquisition Procedures of FAR Part 13, using a comparative evaluation of quotations based on price, past performance and technical qualifications as shown in the solicitation. The NAICS Code for this project is 562111 and the small business size standard is $12.5 million. This procurement is unrestricted, and the National Park Service encourages the participation of all categories of business enterprises.
