Description
PM IED Defeat/Protect Force is seeking sources for the production of a non- developmental magnetometer. The magnetometer would be used to search for buried or concealed Unexploded Ordinance (UXO), mines, weapons and ammunition. In order to successfully meet the Governments requirement the non-developmental magnetometer must meet all of the following criteria: 1 Year Warranty, desert tan in color, shoulder strap in desert tan color, enhanced target definition (ability to recognize the target as the detector approaches), piezoelectric speaker, ability to increase or lower the volume of the audible alarm, headphone jack, clear and sharp detection signal pinpoints the target, individual sensitivity settings (which can be adjusted by the operator) that will allow the user the ability to distinguish between small pieces of scrap ferrous metal and actual targets, no response to aluminum, brass, or copper, user will be able to distinguish between small pieces of scrap ferrous metal and actual targets, 40-hours operation (intermittent usage) on two rechargeable 9-volt lithium batteries, four 9-volt lithium batteries included per magnetometer, modular construction, high performance components, weight approximately 2 1/2 lbs, Overall length no greater than 42.3 inches, weather protected controls, at a minimum, operating temperature between -13 degrees F to 140 degreea F and a rugged lightweight case.Respondents must include a statement as to whether they have a spare parts package that includes every component that can be replaced by trained personnel to include circuit boards and cables. One spare parts package must support at least 75 magnetometers and no more than 250 magnetometers, and include batteries with chargers. Respondents must also provide a statement as to whether they have training materials to support system operation, troubleshooting and maintenance.Respondents shall provide a sustainable delivery schedule to include quantity levels for the magnetometers and the spare parts packages as part of their response Respondents must provide information pertaining to their quality control process as well as their ability to package the units for air freight travel in-house or through sub- contracting. In addition, interested firms shall provide a written description of its most recent contracts which are in any way similar to the effort delineated herein. The description shall include company or Government contracting activity with a point of contact and phone number. This market survey is for information and planning purposes only, and does not constitute a Request for Proposal (RFP). It is not to be construed as a commitment by the U.S. Government. No award will be made as a result of this market survey. All information is to be submitted at no cost or obligation to the Government. The Government reserves the right to reject, in whole or in part, any private sector input as a result of this market survey. The Government is not obligated to notify respondents of the results of this survey.
