- Brand Name Mmandtory Rental of HAKI TraK Roofing System to support Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, Portsmouth NH 03801. Solicitation to be issued on 10/29/2008. The proposed requirement is to rent a Haki Trak 750 temporary roof system and to procure additional sheets of the roofing system for use on the NR1, which will cover the entire boat. ThyssenKrupp Safway, Inc. has been the only company that provided a quote for a temporary roof that met the specifications. It is the only roof that has a temporary sheeting, that can be rolled back in sections to open up specific areas of the enclosure to allow movement of materials in and out by crane. The Haki roof section is rolled back from either side by a worker standing on a platform. This takes only a few minutes to accomplish. All other temporary roofing systems that have removable sections require several workers to get on top of the enclosure to disassemble and reassemble the roof. This takes much longer and proposes a safety hazard. The use of the Haki Trak 750 temporary roof system saves many manhours and dollars, as well as providing a safer work environment This tempora! ry roof system is used to provide an enclosure for drydock #1 to protect the ships and workers from exposure to the weather.
