- This is a Sources Sought advertisement only. No solicitation exists at this time. The US Army Corps of Engineers, Savannah District is seeking interested 8(a) Certified Firms with an office located within Region IV (GA, AL, NC, TN, MS, FL, KY, and SC) which have 236220 among their approved NAICS Codes. The proposed facility is for the US Air Force, at Seymour Johnson AFB, NC. Description: An executive level administrative facility to consolidate key base support functions. The new building is to be approximately 43,100 square feet. This facility will house the Mission Support Group Commander and staff; all installation Legal Counsel functions, including a properly configured and constructed courtroom; base Financial Management staff; base Contracting staff; and Family Support Center staff. All of these spaces and functions require high quality properly outfitted office spaces. The building design concept will utilize a two-story configuration with a central atrium space to create an efficient and functional interrelationship between the various personnel processing and support functions. Circulation is provided both vertically and horizontally through the use of open, multiple level corridors, elevator core, and open monumental stairs which will be combined to create an airy, naturally illuminated and vibrant space, providing an exciting and productive environment for all assigned personnel to enjoy. The construction of the building includes meeting EPACT 2005 energy efficiency requirements. Also included is the administrative tracking of achievement of Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) – Silver Level certification. The project also includes applicable site improvements such as utility systems support, paved parking, and landscaping. A collateral part of the project includes the demolition (including asbestos and lead-based abatement) of as many as 6 existing buildings presently occupied by the functions planned to go into the new building. Interested 8(a) Contractors shall have the experience and capabilities to perform construction that meets all of the following criteria: (1) construction projects with a contracted value of at least $10.0 Million; (2) construction of high end executive level administrative facilities of at least 35,000 SF. (3) Projects submitted should clearly demonstrate the accomplishment of matching criteria as that described above. All interested contractors have until 12 November 2008 at 2:00 PM (Eastern) to submit your company’s business size, evidence of capabilities and experience in the three criteria above, and bonding capabilities in accordance with FAR 28.1.
