- Scope of WorkTrash Collection at Jewel Cave National Monument and NPS/USFS Apartment Complex SCOPE OF WORK:This service involves furnishing all labor, materials and equipment necessary for the disposal of refuse collected by Park Service employees within Jewel Cave National Monument and at the jointly used NPS/USFS Apartment Complex, located at 701 3rd. St., Custer, SD. As described, under the provisions and terms of this contract, the Contractor is responsible for pickup of refuse and Park Service construction debris for delivery to the nearest approved sanitary landfill capable of proper disposal under Federal and State regulations. Contractor is to provide park with schedule of days of week for pickups for the months during the year. LOADING STATION FACILITIES:The Contractor shall provide one (1) container no less than 6 cubic yards storage capacity for the Maintenance Area at Jewel Cave National Monument and one (1) container no less than 2 cubic yards storage capacity for the Apartment Complex in Custer, SD. The designated loading station shall be left in a neat and orderly appearance. Adequate measures shall be taken to prevent spilling of refuse during the loading operation. All refuse spilled during this operation shall be cleaned up before the Contractor leaves the site.Damaged containers shall be replaced within two (2) working days. HAULING EQUIPMENT:Hauling equipment shall be an enclosed commercial collection truck, compaction type, designed to prevent loss of refuse and leakage of liquids in transit and during loading, all equipment shall be kept clean so as to prevent the putrefaction of adherent refuse particles and the breeding of flies therein. SCHEDULE OF COLLECTIONS: Maintenance Shop at Jewel Cave National Monument.Oct 1 - Nov 1One (1) pickup per week. (maximum 5 pickups total)Nov 2 - Mar 28Pickup twice per month (not consecutive weeks) (maximum 11 pickups total)Mar 29 - May 2One (1) pickup per week. (maximum 5 pickups total)May 3 - Aug 29Two (2) pickups per week. (not consecutive days) (34 pickups total)Aug 30 - Sept 30One (1) pickup per week. (maximum 5 pickups total) Apartment Complex at 701 3rd St. Custer, SDOct 1 - Sept 30One (1) pickup per week (maximum 57 pickups total). LEGAL OBLIGATIONSThe Contractor shall be responsible for the observance of law ordinances, statutes and regulations pertaining to the collection and disposal of the refuse. Contractor shall obtain and buy all licenses and pay all fees for the contracted service. MONUMENT RULES AND REGULATIONS:The Contractor shall conduct the work in conformance with such appropriate regulations as the Superintendent may prescribe, and shall also conduct the operation as to not interfere with or endanger the ordinary use of structures, roads, utilities, and other Monument facilities. Equipment operations and materials shall be confined to the limits defined by the National Park Service. Special attention shall be given to the protection of facilities and vegetation adjacent to the work areas. This aquisition is set aside for Emerging Small Businesses. The magnitude of this contract is less than $25,000. P&S Code:S205, NAICS Code:562111, Small Business Size Standard is: $12.5 Million.
