- The National Institutes of Health, National Eye Institute, Bethesda, Maryland intends to award a sole source procurement under Simplified Acquisition Procedures to Dr. Michael K. Wyatt, 3290 Applegate Court, Annandale, Virginia 22003 to provide Research Services in Molecular Biology for the following techniques: Yeast 2-hybrid methods for protein interactions; expression of recombinant proteins for functional and structural analyses; mass spectroscopy; surface plasmon resonance spectroscopy; and DNA sequencing, polymerase chain reaction (PCR). The period of work will be for 12 months with option for 3 addtional years. The NAICS code is 541711. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. It is not a solicitation or request for offers. Vendors who believe they can meet the requirement may provide written notification to the Contracting Officer by 3:00pm EST, November 3, 2008. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to comply with the requirement. Vendors must also provide references and show competition would be advantegeous to the Government. Responses received will be evaluated, however, a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determing whether to conduct a competitive procurement in the future. Interested vendors must provide a Capability Statement with the following information: Company name, Address, Point of contact, Telephone and Fax number, Email address, Business size, and DUNS number. If no responses are received, the Government will proceed with the sole source procurement to Dr. Michael K. Wyatt.
