Description
The Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command (SPAWAR) in support of theProgram Executive Office-Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence and Space (PEO-C4I & Space), Navy Battlespace Awareness and Information Operations Program Office (PMW-120) intends to conduct an unrestricted competitive procurement for a Navy Altimetry Satellite. This Altimetry Satellite replaces the Navy's Geosat Follow-on (GFO) Satellite launched in 1998. The program for the new Altimetry Satellite is called GFO-2. The Government intends to award a Cost Plus Incentive Fee (CPIF)/Cost Plus Fixed Fee (CPFF) contract. A Request for Proposal (RFP) is anticipated to be issued in December 2008. The anticipated award date is September 2009. FAR Part 15, Contracting by Negotiation, will be utilized. The Government plans to release a draft RFP in early November 2008 and hold an Industry Day on 13 November 2008 to provide potential offerors the opportunity to obtain a better understanding of the contract and requirements. The Industry Day will be held at the Harbor Inn, Bldg. 530, Lighthouse Room on the Naval Base Point Loma, San Diego, CA 92106. (9am-11am Gov't Presentation. Questions: Due: 12:00 Written Q&As 2: 00-4:00). Four people per company and participants shall provide attendees names, title, email address, and company name by COB 03 November 2008.
