- The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Veterans Health Administration (VHA) Alexandria VA Medical Center, 2495 Shreveport Highway, Alexandria, LA 71301, is seeking a Small Business contractor or contractors to provide hoist installation (for wheel chairs) and repair services to motorized wheel chairs for beneficiaries of the VA Medical Center. Service shall include the installation, removal, cleaning, repairing and storage of Government-owned lifts/hoists. Equipment and parts utilized in this contract will be provided by the VA under a separate General Services Administration (GSA) or Federal Supply Schedule (FSS) contract. In the event the hitch needed cannot be found under either a GSA or FSS contract the Contractor will provide the equipment/parts to complete the requirement. All services will be accomplished by Veterans travelling to Contractor premises. VA anticipates several awards as a result from the solicitation. Offers will be considered only from offerors who are regularly established in the business called for and who in the judgment of the Contracting Officer are financially responsible and can successfully fulfill the service(s) required by the solicitation. The NAICS code for this solicitation is 446199. The size standard is $6.5M. The solicitation is restricted to Small Businesses only. The period of performance will be a base period with 4 possible years available for extension. The solicitation is anticipated to be available for download by October 23, 2008.
