- Description
- Fleet and Industrial Supply Center Puget Sound intends to procure Specialized Freight Trucking Services - Long-Distance for transporting Potassium Chromate Solution from Puget Sound Naval Shipyard - Bremerton, WA to Northrop Grumman Newport News (NGNN) Shipyard in Newport News, VA. This requirement shall be issued using commercial, Simplified Acquisition procedures per FAR Part 12 and 13.5. The Government anticipates the award of an Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity contract with a period of one base year and two (2) one-year options. The solicitation will be issued on or about Oct 31, 2008 as a small business set-aside. Per FAR 5.203(b), the solicitation closing date has been reduced to 21 days. The associated NAICS code is 484230 and the small business size is $25.5 million. Anticipated shipment schedule: Jan 2009, Nov 2010, and possibly June 2011 - for "just in time delivery" to NGNN. The resulting contract will be a firm fixed priced contract. When issued, t! he RFQ will be posted on the Navy Electronic Commerce Online (NECO) web link www.neco.navy.mil. All offerors wishing to submit an offer are responsible for downloading their own copy of the RFQ from this website and to frequently monitor the site for any amendments to the RFQ. No telephone or fax requests for the RFQ package will be accepted. An email request to gary.cegalis@navy.mil will be accepted in the event an offeror experiences problems downloading the RFQ from the NECO website. No bidders list will be maintained by this office. No paper copies of the RFQ/amendments will be mailed. Failure to respond to the electronically posted RFQ and associated amendments prior to the date and time set for receipt of quotes may render your quote nonresponsive and result in rejection of the same.
