- This is a notice of intent for the Department of Veterans Affairs VA Medical Center located at 2495 Shreveport Highway in Pineville, Louisiana 71360, to negotiate using sole source procedures with Tyco Healthcare Group LP, a large business, to provide service and upkeep on in-house ventilators, manufactured by Puritan Bennett, an affiliation of Tyco Healthcare Group LP. The Government believes that this is the only vendor capable of satisfying the agency requirements and intends to negotiate with only one source under authority of FAR 13.106(b). Other persons may identify their interest and capability by responding to this announcement by 4:30 PM (Central Time), October 20, 2008. Such information will be used solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. No solicitation will be made available and all information shall be furnished at no cost or obligation to the Government. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Telephone inquiries will not be accepted, nor will responses received past the response due date and time mentioned above.
