- NASA/GSFC has a requirement for:CUSTOMIZE REQUIREMENTPLEASE SEE ATTACHMENT A FILE.NASA/GSFC intends to purchase the items from Precision Photonics. It is ourunderstanding that Precision Photonics is the only vendor that can provide technicalenhancement and technical support for the Engineering Development Unit (EDU) for theICESat II project.The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12.The authority isFAR 13.106(b)(1) only one source reasonably available. Questions regarding this acquisition must be directed to the attention of Kimber Russellvia e-mail at Kimber.R.Russell@nasa.gov or via facsimile at (301) 286-9159 by 3:00pm ESTon 10/20/2008.Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform theeffort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 12:00pm EST on10/16/2008. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose ofdetermining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. It is thequoter's responsibility to monitor this site for the release of amendments. Potentialquoters will be responsible for downloading their own copy of this notice.A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and opencompetition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretionof the Government.Oral communications ARE NOT acceptable in response to this notice.All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency.An ombudsman has been appointed.
