- Sources SoughtM249 200 Round Soft Pack MagazineContracting Office Address: Joint Munitions and Lethality (JM&L) Contracting Center, Picatinny Arsenal, New Jersey 07806-5000Description: This notice is a Sources Sought announcement. There is no solicitation available at this time. The JM&L Contracting Center in support of the Project Manager Soldier Weapons, is conducting a market survey to identify potential sources for fabrication and delivery of M249 200 Round Soft Pack Magazines (Government Technical Data Package Part Number 13020698). The M249 200 Round Soft Pack Magazine is to be manufactured, inspected, assembled, packaged and shipped in accordance with the Government TDP. The M249 200 Round Soft Pack Magazine is a metal, plastic, and cloth container that attaches to the M249 Squad Automatic Weapon and holds 200 linked 5.56mm rounds. It provides the capability of feeding linked belt ammunition reliably to the M249 weapon to provide sustained, accurate fire in support of infantry operations. This notice is to determine if there are sources capable of manufacturing the M249 200 Round Soft Pack Magazine for a potential base quantity of 13,000 Magazines with four (4) additional ordering periods for a potential maximum total of 59,000. A possible future contract shall require the successful completion of a First Article sample test, and ongoing lot acceptance tests. The First Article sample shall be required to be submitted to the Government 180 days after contract award. Monthly production deliveries may be required within 75 days after USG approval of the First Article at a production delivery rate of approximately 1,500 per month. Should an RFP be issued for this action, the planned award will be made on a best value basis under full and open competition. All responsible, interested offerors are encouraged to submit their capabilities/qualification data and any pertinent information in hard copy or via email, within 15 calender days to: Joint Munitions and Lethality Contracting Center, AMSCC-JML-SW, Bldg 10, Attn: Mary Krisanda, Picatinny Arsenal, NJ 07806-5000. All information is to be submitted at no cost or obligation to the Government. NO TELEPHONE INQUIRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED. The Government will accept written questions by email to mary.krisanda@us.army.mil. Any information provided will not be returned. This is a sources sought notice only and should not be construed as a Request for Proposal or a commitment by the U.S. Government. The U.S. Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this market survey. All information is to be submitted at no cost or obligation to the Government.
