- The Naval Sea Systems Command intends to procure research and development associated with Directed Energy and Electric Weapons including the Free Electron Laser (FEL) and other laser systems with potential for weapon and specific sensor utility, including associated technology assessment, engineering, engineering analyses, component, subsystem and system design and design analysis, system engineering, component and system integration, test and evaluation, installation and installation support on a sole source basis from Schafer Corporation, 321 Billerica Road, Chelmsford, MA 01824-4191.
