Description
This Sources Sought is a market research tool used to determine the availability of qualified sources prior to planning a potential contract. Eglin AFB is seeking contractors who can provide a manual herbicide crew for application of herbicides to forested areas, natural areas, and military ranges. The manual crews primarily would be used to apply Pronone Power Pellets by hand and Velpar ULW using backpack blowers. Additionally, liquid herbicides may be applied using various methods and equipment. Acreage to be treated may range from 2000 to 4000 acres per year. The treatment areas usually have dense underbrush, and the work is physically challenging. New DOD Instructions require all persons who apply herbicides possess a state applicator's license, even for use of non-restricted use herbicides (DODI 4150.07 E4.6.1, 29 May 2008). Each Crewmember must possess Florida Commercial Use pesticide licenses in the categories of either Forest Pest Control or Natural Areas Weed Management. Aquatic Pest Control category may be required. Alternatively, for this Sources Sought, the Herbicide Crewmembers may possess such a license in another state and reasonably could be expected to obtain appropriate Florida licenses through testing or reciprocity. (Reciprocal states are Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Mississippi, or Indiana.) Crew Supervisors and Vegetation Management Professionals must also possess Florida Licenses in appropriate categories. Please provide me with your NAICS code, business size and capabilities.
