Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs Mid Atlantic Health Care Network (VISN 6) intends to negotiate sole source commercial item procurement with Jane Care Ambulance to serve the VAMC Beckley, West Virginia, to include the requirements for the following counties of West Virginia: Clay, Fayette, Greenbrier, McDowell, Mercer, Monroe, Nicholas, Pocahontas, Raleigh, Summers and Wyoming and Tazewell, Virginia. The contractor will provide all personnel and equipment for emergent and non-emergent, basic and advanced life support ambulance service, twenty-four hours per day, 365 days per year, on an as-needed basis. This requires 26 or more readily available ambulance at all time in Beckley and its surrounding counties. Contract shall also require trips to VAMC Richmond Virginia, VAMC Salem Virginia and VAMC Asheville North Carolina. This includes Critical Care Transport. Emergency Medical Technicians providing emergency services on ambulances under this contract must be certified, licensed or otherwise officially recognized by local, state or regional government or public entity where the emergency ambulance service is operated or by which it is governed. This requirement Contract period is for one (1) base year with one (1) year renewal option that can be exercised by the Government. This proposed procurement is for supplies or services for which the government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. However, interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement no later than Noon, September 26, 2008, local time. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
