Description
The purpose of this amendment is to clarify the FBI's requirements for a temperature control unit by providing additional information regarding installation and system requirements. WIRELESS SYSTEMS WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED. THIS INCLUDES SYSTEMS THAT ARE COMEPLTELY WIRED BUT ONLY HAVE WIRELESS SENSORS/PROBES. The FBI Laboratory is an ASCLD/ISO 17025 compliant crime laboratory and is required to monitor the temperature of refrigerators, freezers, water baths, incubators, etc. In order to perform this in an efficient manner and to create an audit record, a temperature monitoring system is required. This system shall provide 24 hour monitoring of the critical equipment. Installation: The proposed temperature monitoring system is intended for use in a dynamic environment where monitoring locations are reconfigured often. The system should be easy to install and not rely on installed wiring, electrical or wall mounted panel or cabinet installation for rapid deployment and reconfiguration. The system must be deployable by FBI IT personnel only (no vendor installation is permitted) using standard networking components (CAT5 Ethernet, USB, Serial, PCs, Switches, and Servers). Temperature Monitoring Unit: •1) Capable of stand alone monitoring •a) USB/serial connection to download data •b) 32K+ Internal memory to record 5 days of data polling at 30 second intervals across two or more channels •c) Self Powered/minimum 5 year internal battery •2) Capable of remote monitoring •a) CAT5 Ethernet LAN/WAN only (no wireless technology) •b) Power over Ethernet required for all Digi-Ethernet connection adapters •c) Automated download via network software Vendors shall provide a quote that meets all the requirements of this combined synopsis/solicitation and all its amendments by September 25, 2008 at 4:00 PM. All quotes shall be submitted by email only to Rhonda Williams at Rhonda.Williams@ic.fbi.gov.
