- Description
- The VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System (VAPHS), University Drive C Division, intends to negotiate a sole source procurement pursuant to FAR 6.302-1 with Buffalo Supply, 5900 A Coal Creek Drive, Lafayette, CO 80026 for (5 ea) "The Bone Mill", Manufactured by Stryker, Product 5400-700-000, (5ea) 5400-701-000, Bone Mill Medium Blade 5.0, (5 ea) Bone Mill Medium Blade 3.2, (5 ea) 5400-705-000 The Mill Sterilization Case, and (5ea) 5400-704-000 The Mill Hand piece Cable. The Stryker Bone Mill is designed for a uniform consistent bone yield producing the same size particulate every time which aids in a more successful fusion. Simple pass cutting action allows for lower temperature bone exposure that also results in better fusion rate. The different blade sizes allow for different sized bone particulate and desired bone granulation. This bone mill allows the scrub tech to crush the bone in 15-20 seconds which enables the technician to focus on assisting the surgeon on other aspects of the procedure as opposed to crushing the bone manually. Firms who wish to identify their interest and capability to provide an alternate system which will meet the capabilities and functionality described above may notify the Contracting Officer, by e-mail at cassandra.craven@va.gov. (412) 954-4022 no later than 4:00pm EST September 26, 2008. Such notification must include a complete description of proposed equipment including a narrative and specifications, and must demonstrate that it meets or exceeds the capabilities described above. Upon receipt of any such notifications, the contracting officer will determine whether to conduct a competitive procurement or proceed with the sole source negotiations. This notice is not a request for competitive proposal.
