Description
The Marine Corps Systems Command, Quantico, Virginia seeks sources and information for On-board/under-the-hood power systems. A need exists for On-board Vehicle Power System (OBVPS) that are self-contained, engine-mounted assembly, either as an add-on to the vehicle or, as a remove-and-replace (R-n-R) components for the current vehicle system. The target vehicle is the USMC variant of the High Mobility Multi-Purpose Wheeled Vehicle M1152 configuration. The OBVPS shall provide no less than 20 kilowatts (kW) electrical output (35 kW desired) of 60 Hz, 120 Volts alternating current, true sine wave at 0.8 power factor while either moving or stationary. If the system is R-n-R for the existing alternator, then a capability must be provided for at least 150 amps of on-board 24 Volt DC power for vehicle functions. The OBVPS shall provide power quality in accordance with MEP-STD-001. Paralleling of like systems to achieve 40-70 kW of electrical export power is desired. Commer! cial firms possessing the characteristics noted in any of the above systems are encouraged and invited to submit product and corporate capability description. The Government envisions conducting vehicle evaluations of potential solutions in 2009, and responses will be reviewed to identify firms potentially capable of fulfilling the Governments requirements. This sources-sought / Request For Information (RFI) is for planning purposes only and shall not be construed as a Request For Proposal or as an obligation on the part of the Government to acquire follow-on acquisition. The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this RFI, or otherwise pay for the information requested. No entitlement to payment of direct or indirect costs or charges by the Government will arise as a result of submission of responses to this RFI and Government use of such information. The Government recognizes that proprietary data may be part of this effort. If so included, clearl! y mark such restricted or proprietary data and present it as an addendum to the non-restricted/non-proprietary information. Responses to this RFI shall be electronically transmitted to Marine Corps Systems Command, attention: Shekela Hutchinson, (703) 432-5007, shekela.hutchinson@usmc.mil
