- Notice of Intent to award sole source contract. This is not a solicitation. The Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Aleda E. Lutz VAMC, Saginaw, Michigan intends to negotiate and award a firm fixed price contract for IdentifiOR Software base package, remote installation, configuration and training, annual support, and application upgrades to Data Capture Solutions, 151 Sheldon Road, Manchester, CT 06042. The requirement is for a flexible design program for creating photo identification wristbands and other safety related items for patients. The authority for this action is FAR 6.302-1. Data Capture Solutions is the sole source of the required software. This is a commercial acquisition under FAR 12.6 and 13.106. The items to be sole-sourced are the following software and equipment: IdentifiOR Software, Installation, Configuration and Training, annual support, and Lexmark C5 series laser printers with VA specific retrofits. The NAICS is 541511. The size standard is $23 Million. Interested persons may contact the Contract Specialist regarding this procurement and may identify capabilities for items of this kind. Correspondence should be received not later than three (3) days after this notice, September 26, 2:00 pm EST and should be directed to Contract Specialist Carole Soule, 989-321-4805 or carole.soule@va.gov. Responses received on or before September 26, 2008 will be considered. A determination not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice will be solely at the discretion of the Government. This notice will be the only notice posted regarding this contract action.
