- Description
- The Department of the Army Directorate of Contracting, Fort Jackson, SC office intends to award a sole source contract to upgrade the operating frequency of the existing fire alarm transmitter system at Fort Jackson Army Installation to a FCC mandated narrowband frequency which will require replacement of the existing transmitters. Fort Jackson fire alarm transmitters can only communicate with the existing contractors receiving equipment. The contract will be awarded using Simplified Acquisition Procedures and other than full and open competition as authorized under FAR 6.302-1. The anticipated award date of the contract is 24 September 2008. This notice is not a request for offers. A determination not to compete this procurement based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
