- The National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS), Research Triangle Park, NC intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Illumina Inc., San Diego, CA 92121, pursuant to 41 U.S.C.253(c)(1)--Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. This procurement is for one (1) each Illumina iScan System comprised of the following components: WG-15-304 Infimium Option Starter Package, SY-101-1001 iScan System, SE-101-1001 Kit, GoldenGate Product Option Kit, and SE-101-1003 Kit, GeneExpression (IVT) Product Option Kit. System utilizes an innovative scanner that incorporates high-performance laser, optics, and detection systems compatible with the Illumina platform. The system has the capability to deliver submicron resolution and high throughput rates by high signal-to-noise ratio, high sensitivity, low limit of detection and broad dynamic range. System must be compatible with existing Illumina BeadExpress system. System must be able to run in an open atmosphere and not require an “ozone-free” tent. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability. Respond to this requirement by submitting written capabilities/specifications to the Contracting Specialist at the address stated above. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals; however, all responses received within 6 days from the date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract action based upon responses to this notice is solely with the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. If no affirmative responses are received within 6 days of this notice to determine whether a qualified source is more advantageous to the Government, the order will be issued to Illumina, Inc. The NAICS Code/Size is 34516/500 Emp. This procurement is to be processed using Simplified Acquisition Procedures - Commercial Item Test Program in conjunction with FAR Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items.
