- This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6 and Part 14, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; bids are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This is a total small business set aside for U. S. contractors only. The solicitation will be a request for bids IAW FAR Part 14..This announcement is for the purpose of soliciting contractors interested in submitting a bid to provide one (1) new (current year) forklift, brand name or equal to Caterpillar P5000D. The forklift must be manufactured in the U.S. The manufacture must be able to repair, maintain and provide technical support for its product in Egypt. This procurement is for the Government of Egypt. All transportation will be FOB origin. Bidders must certify that the price does not include any transportation charges. SPECIFICATIONS: a. Lift capacity 5000lb. b. Diesel engine c. Single speed powershift transmission. d. Mast high visibility; MFH 188.0; OAL 84.5, FFH 36.0. e. Tilt Cylinders - 6 Fwd/6 Back. f. Integral Sideshifter 39.5 wide. g. Forks Pallet Pair Length 42/Width 3.9/Thickness 1.6. h. Load Backrest 48 high. i. Tires Single Pneumatic Air Filled drive and steer. j. Two headlights with guards. k. Electronic Backup Alarm. l. Combination Stop-Back up lights. m. Hydrostatic Power Steering. n. Warranty One year; unlimited hours parts and labor. SUBMISSION OF BIDS: Vendors will be required to submit the following information on company letterhead or business stationary directly to the contracting officer: 1.The Invitation for Bid Number (W912ER-08-R-0082); 2. Schedule of Item with Pricing; 3. Contractor Central Registration (CCR) number; 4. A complete copy of the certifications at 52.212-3; Bidders Representations and Certification-Commercial Items (Nov 2006). Any contractor interested in obtaining a contract award with the US Army Corps of Engineers must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) Database at www.ccr.gov. Bids are due no later than October 3, 2008 at 2:00 PM Eastern Standard Time. Bids received after this date and time will not be considered for award. The postal mailing address is US Army Corps of Engineers, Transatlantic Programs Center, ATTN: CETAC-A (Mr. Lynn Johnson), 201 Prince Frederick Drive, Winchester VA 22602.
