Description
This is a notice of intent to award a sole source firm fixed price contract to LINE-X Protective Coatings, 1862 Sparkman Dr NW, Huntsville AL 35816-1122 (under the authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304(c) (1) as implemented by FAR 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. LINE-X Protective Coatings is a Small Business. The requirement is to provide a Blast Protection Polyurethane System for USASOC to provide the command with a way to better protect their facilities against an explosive attack. The requirement consists of a sprayable tank and pump unit (TPU) system with associated sub-components; polyurethane material; and Mylar with associated sub-components. The information received to support this sole source reveals that this is proprietary material and has been tested by the Air Force Research Laboratory for combustion and blast protection and fulfills USASOC’s unique operational requirements. This notice is not a request for offers. The anticipated date of award is 26 September 2008. Market research to validate the information contained in this notice was obtained by reviewing material listed on the web as well as reviewing the Air Force Research Laboratory test results for the LINE-X product. Responses to this notice will be used to determine if bona fide competition exists to provide a Blast Protection Polyurethane System that fulfills the U.S. Government’s requirement. Any such responses must be in writing and include documents that clearly demonstrate the ability to meet the requirements listed above. All responses from responsible sources will be fully considered; however, determination to compete or not to compete this requirement is solely at the discretion of the Government. No extensions will be granted. The Government will not pay for any information submitted. Only electronic submissions will be accepted. No telephone responses will be accepted.
