- Under the authority of Federal Acquisition Regulation, Part 6, Subpart 6-302-1, and Part 13, Subpart 13-601-1 the Department of Veterans Affairs, Minneapolis VA Medical Center, intends to contract with Olympus (and Leeds Precision Instruments, Inc. of Minnesota the only authorized representative) for the purchase of Olympus FVX Laser Scanning Confocal System with computer. This acquisition is being conducted using Simplified Acquisition Procedures in accordance with FAR Part 6 and 13, to upgrade the previously purchased Olympus Confocal System from Olympus for the Research Department. This synopsis is not to be considered a request for quotations or proposals. No solicitation document is available and telephone request will not be honored. No contract will be awarded on the basis of offers received in response to this notice, but offers will be used to determine if a comparable source is available and more advantageous to the government. A determination by the Government to not compete this requirement, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the Government. The NAICS code 423490 and business size is 100 employees or less. If no affirmative written response is received within two (2) days from the publication of this synopsis, a contract may be issued to Olympus (Leeds Precision Instruments, Inc. of Minnesota).
